Library

A large selection of pomological titles - many old and out-of-print - is available via the mails for modest borrowing fees.

Use of the R. W. Daniels Memorial Library is one of the advantages of NAFEX membership. Judge R.W. Daniels, an amateur pomologist and book collector, donated his extensive collection of books to one of the founders of NAFEX, the late Fred Ashworth. Fred had the inspiration to use it as the foundation for a NAFEX library to memorialize his friend. He added volumes from his own collection and the R.W. Daniels Library came into being in the late Sixties. NAFEX co-founder Fred Janson of Ontario, Canada served as our first librarian. In 1981 Dorothy Nichols of Arcola, Missouri assumed that position and was able to computerize the growing resources. Our present librarian, John Hillbrand, took over in January 1988.

The NAFEX Library Book List is now available on the internet and you will receive a copy with your membership.

NAFEX and NNGA have established a cooperative library loan policy. The NNGA library page is available on-line at http://www.nutgrowing.org/library.htm
